Bonnier started as a small book store and publishing firm and represents more than 200 years of sustainable media entrepreneurship. It all started in:
1804 when Gerhard Bonnier (1778-1862) published an anthology of crime stories called Underfulde og sandfærdige kriminalhistorier ("Strange and true criminal histories").
In 1892 the first issue of Folkskolans barntidning (a magazine for children) was published. Bonnier bought the title in 1930 and changed the name to Kamratposten in 1950. Today we simply call it KP.
In 1906 the publishing company Julstämnings Förlag was founded, which later became Åhlén & Åkerlund. In 1929 they were acquired by Bonnier and as of 2000 the company is called Bonnier Tidskrifter.
The acquisition in 1929 of Åhlén & Åkerlund marks the starting point of the Bonnier family's magazine publishing business. Since that year a lot has happened within the Bonnier sphere: expansion of publication abroad, investments online, brand development ...
And of course, new titles have been born, bought and buried over the years. Below are some more starting years of now existing brands of Bonnier Tidskrifter.
